Vice-President

Ricardo Freitas

You are co-founder, board member and our head of training, what is your motivation working in this project?

I believe, I met the right people in combination with the right project - I was dreaming of building up an own flight school from zero for a long time.
I really like aviation training. Creating and developing this kind of project means a lot of work and needs full commitment.

But as I love what I do - the passion was always here - this challenge is very motivating.

What is your aviation experience before entering the aviation training?

When I was 20 years old, I entered the Portuguese Air Force with the target to become a pilot. As there were no vacancies for pilots, I made a course as an aircraft mechanic first and worked about two years in this job. Although it was a good time, I never got really convinced of the concept of military and I could not reach my target there.

So I left the army to make my Airline Transport Pilot Course at Escola Aviação AEROCONDOR in Tires. For me that was the beginning of everything.
Having finished the license I was invited to do the flight instructor course immediately and I was hooked with instruction. After the course and from that moment on it was a straight career to the Head of Training, in 2007.

Why are you still in a flight school, as all the airlines offer great jobs and a lot of money?

First of all, I personally don’t like too much to travel a lot.

Second, I like the job - I love to fly and I love to teach. I believe, that teaching and passing my knowledge and experience to others is very rewarding and motivating and is also one of my passions.

I have discovered already this many years ago, so this is probably why I chose this career.

What do you like about flying?

Everything! It’s flying - I love it!

Are you still passionate?

Absolutely! I imagine this will never change.
