Head of Ground School

Carlos Santos

Carlos Santos graduated in Aeronautical Piloting from the Portuguese Air Force Academy in 1982, having completed flight training at the United States Air Force (USAF-AFC) at Laughlin Air Base AFB, Texas, in 1984.

Over some 30 years of effective service as an Air Force Pilot-Aviator, he has acquired great experience as a fighter combat pilot and as flight instructor.

At the organizational level, he served on multiple planning, direction, and command functions of tactical air operations, among which, the Air Force Inspector, Operations Director at the Air Force Command at Monsanto and Director of the Regional Center of the Southern Air Defense of NATO in Naples, Italy.

In the scope of civil aeronautics, he served initially as administrator of a public aviation company, and then devoted himself to aeronautical training, as Head of Operations of EAA-Aviation School Aerocondor / GAir (later L3) and, more recently, as Deputy Head of Training of this school.

Aviation was an early passion and he believes that in this activity, as in life, talent is not enough, that success only happens to those who dare to take the path of the challenges of continuous deepening of knowledge, with unshakeable passion, determination and resilience.

In this sense, he enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to contribute to the vision of the GFS Global Flight School and thus participate in the development of vocational orientation and training of excellence for a new generation of aeronautical professionals in Portugal.
